SeaKing Solace Releases Six Scientific White Papers and Launches New Scientific Website

The six-paper scientific series consolidates the published evidence supporting the rationale, measurement architecture, and staged research strategy for the SeaKing Solace Phase 1 study.

SeaKing Solace has released a six-part scientific white paper series designed to establish the published scientific foundation and evidentiary boundaries for its proposed Phase 1 SAIL study. The series is now available through the organization's new online Science section, which brings the papers together with an accessible account of the hypothesis, measurement framework, and staged research strategy.

The series does not present SeaKing Solace as an established therapy, and it does not claim that the program's central hypothesis has been proven. Instead, the papers examine the scientific chain required to justify the next experiment: how natural motion is received by the vestibular system, how vestibular input may interact with autonomic physiology, how those responses should be measured and interpreted, what prior motion-rich human studies can and cannot establish, and what evidence would be needed before later controlled or clinical research could be considered.

A six-part scientific foundation

    Vestibular System & Motion

    Explains how natural physical motion becomes vestibular input and why motion should be measured as a multidimensional, time-varying, head-centered stimulus.

  2. Review 02

    Vestibular-Autonomic Interactions

    Reviews evidence that vestibular stimulation can influence human autonomic physiology and establishes the need for synchronized, multimodal physiological measurement.

  3. Review 03

    Autonomic & Vagal Regulation

    Defines how autonomic physiology should be interpreted, including the limits of heart-rate variability, electrodermal activity, pupillometry, cardiovascular measures, and broad concepts such as vagal tone or autonomic balance.

  4. Review 04

    Vestibular Stimulation & Neuroplasticity

    Examines evidence for vestibular adaptation, learning, exposure-dependent change, and neuroplasticity while distinguishing acute response, learning, retention, transfer, and clinical benefit.

  5. Review 05

    Motion-Rich Human Interventions

    Reviews human intervention literature involving therapeutic horseback riding, rocking, vestibular rehabilitation, whole-body vibration, sailing, and other motion-rich environments, emphasizing the recurring gap in direct physical-stimulus characterization.

  6. Review 06

    SeaKing Solace Hypothesis

    Synthesizes Reviews 01–05 into the canonical SeaKing Solace hypothesis and defines an evidence-gated path from natural-motion discovery through controlled reproduction, dose-response work, population-specific testing, and clinical studies if justified.

Taken together, the reviews identify a specific unresolved question. The missing issue is not whether motion exists, whether the vestibular system detects it, or whether vestibular stimulation can affect human physiology in principle. The question is whether quantified natural multidimensional motion contains reproducible physiological structure that can be measured directly in humans and later reproduced under controlled conditions.

That distinction shapes the proposed Phase 1 research program. Rather than beginning with a predetermined therapeutic waveform, SAIL is intended to characterize the motion participants actually receive and align those measurements with synchronized physiological signals. The aim is to determine whether candidate motion-response relationships can be identified with enough precision and within-person reproducibility to warrant a subsequent controlled experiment.

A positive Phase 1 finding would not establish therapeutic efficacy or clinical benefit. It would identify candidate stimulus-response relationships worthy of controlled reproduction and further testing. Non-supportive, inconsistent, or heterogeneous findings would also be scientifically valuable: they could narrow the hypothesis, reveal important sources of individual variation, redirect measurement priorities, or show that progression is not justified in its current form.

All six documents are Scientific White Papers developed from the published scientific literature. They are not represented as peer-reviewed journal publications. Their role is to make the program's reasoning, evidence boundaries, open questions, and decision points available for scrutiny by scientists, clinicians, universities, funders, and prospective collaborators.

Publishing the reviews together also creates a common reference point for program development. Prospective research partners can examine the measurement logic before considering a collaboration; funders can see which questions an initial study can responsibly answer; and technical teams can trace proposed instrumentation decisions back to explicit scientific requirements. The series is intended to support informed evaluation, not to replace independent review or the institutional processes required for human research.

The new website will serve as the public home for that scientific series as well as information about the research program, scientific collaboration, sponsorship, and philanthropy. As program development continues, SeaKing Solace intends to use the site to distinguish clearly between what the literature establishes, what the program hypothesizes, what a future study is designed to test, and what remains unknown.
